Building a better business and individual performers - Rockend Company Day

As part of our commitment to people development and sharing our business plans, over 80 members of the Rockend team met in Sydney on Friday 27th of August.

Everyone was excited to hear the key note address, delivered by Edward de Bono, a man recognised as the world's leading authority on creative thinking, innovation and teaching thinking as a core skill.

De Bono's presentation was a wonderful conclusion to Rockend's first round of Building Blocks training an internal education program for all employees. Building Blocks is based on first knowing your own strengths and then adding business skills and management theories developed by many thought leaders including Maslow, Herzberg, Drucker, Covey and de Bono's own six thinking hats.

Rockend CEO John Goddard shared the plan for FY11 and a vision of our business in 2015. The day continued with participants hearing from the heads of Marketing, Sales, Product and Client Services who shared their area plans and goals for the year.

To finish the day, Organisational Coach Clive Leach presented a practical view on how to flourish in work and home life based on his extensive experience as an organisational coach working with Asian and Australian organisations.

Early feedback from the event has confirmed the importance of creating a work environment where people are challenged, inspired, creative, innovative and recognise the importance of consistency of purpose connected with personal and organisational growth.
