Starr Partners Auburn enjoyed a bumper auction weekend recently, selling properties in Auburn and Berala for $36,000 and $40,000 above reserve respectively.
In Auburn, a renovated home at 71 Kihilla Road sold for $411,000 . This result was $36,000 above reserve and set a record for a single front property in Auburn.
Dean Olsen, Principal at Starr Partners Auburn, says the two bedroom cottage attracted significant interest from first homebuyers in the lead up to auction. On the day, 12 registered bidders competed for the property. The buyers are a young family who were looking to purchase their first home.
In Berala, an unrenovated cottage at 150 Nottinghill Rd attracted 10 bidders hoping to take advantage of the opportunity to knock down and build a new home. Spirited bidding led to a final price of $460,000 – $40,000 above reserve.
“We have been achieving some great results at auction lately, demonstrating the popularity of this sales method among buyers and sellers in the Auburn area,” says Mr Olsen.
“The entire Auburn market is really heating up ahead of spring, and we are listing a number of great properties over the coming weeks,” he adds.
