Trim is the finished size the magazine is trimmed to after printing. Bleed is the extension of the artwork beyond the trim measurements to allow colours to run right to the edge of the page when trimmed. Why provide bleed? Because sometimes when the magazine is being bound the pages move a couple of millimetres. If no bleed is provided on your ad artwork, white edges will appear. So as to allow for this movement 5mm of bleed and crop markes must be provided on all 4 edges of a full page or DPS advert.
Artwork may be provided either as a high resolution PDF with 5mm bleed and crop marks (preferred), as an InDesign file with all links and fonts supplied or as a high resolution JPEG or TIFF file at no less than 300dpi at 100%. Files under 7.5MB may be emailed. Anything larger must be supplied on CD, DVD or FTP.
Five weeks prior to publication.
A 30% deposit is required when the advertisement is booked. The balance is due 7 days post publishing.
